my tips..... to teach
1. Motivation: A variety of factors can create
a desire to learn. Some students have a practical reason for learning a
language like watch English films, understand manuals, and travel to another country
etc., this kind of motivation which comes outside the classroom is often
referred to as extrinsic motivation, on the other hand intrinsic motivation is
the kind of motivation that is generated by what happens inside the classroom;
this could be teachers methods, or their perception of their success. And one
of the teachers’ main aims should be to help students to sustain their
motivation.
3. The students
are humans: Teachers have to know
their students as people, and not just pupils. Teachers should spend the first
several lessons teaching introductions, and allow the students to interact
freely with the teacher and the other students. Ask students about their
families and teach them the corresponding English phrases. The students will
feel more comfortable with the teacher and with each other after introductions
have been taught and made.
5. Classroom
climate: It is the general
atmosphere that exists in the class, and relationship between the teacher and
the students. Point out that the classroom climate is strongly affected by the teachers’
attitude, and also by their behavior (how they ask questions, how they maintain
discipline, how much they use English, etc.). It also has relation with the teachers’
abilities to manage the class.
